Features: Typo3 is an Open-Source CMS system, based on PHP, JavaScript and TypoScript. MySQL or PostgreSQL is used as a database backend, in the future I think it is planned that any DB can be used. TypoScript was developed as a scripting-language for Typo3, the heart of it actually, as those scripts manage content and template design. The whole site management can be done by using a simple web browser, whereby you have a backend and a frontend view (see the two images here as an example!). As a result the system is independent on the desktop system! Another great feature of Typo3 is dynamic image and menu rendering. A powerful search-function or a site-map can be generated out of the box. Single sites or whole folders can be password protected, can be displayed or even time controlled. I can’t list all the great features of Typo3, it is just too powerful, better check out the Typo3 website!
